This year the IIDA stepped right on up and presented one of "The Greatest Shows on Earth". 2018's Unravel took place right here in St. Louis at the Big Top. This year marked the 7th annual unravel fashion show, and the theme was Cirque du Soleil.
The event was sponsored by local St. Louis architecture and design firms. Interior design teams were paired with manufacturing representatives to create runway worthy fashions, made from materials such as textiles & live plants, to wood & tile flooring.
The show was entertaining and truly inspiring! There were performers, dancers and flame throwers who put on a one of a kind show. Models strutted and dazzled the runway in one of a kind fashions made by the Interior design teams that were paired with manufacturing representatives. The winners of this years Unravel were, HOK for "People's Choice" & "Best in Show", VVELL Studio for "Best Craftsmanship", and NewGround for "Best Concept to Creation". The garments will be on exhibit at Central Library November 8 thru December 23.
This was the first year for the Student Competition. Interior design students from local programs created accessories from multiple materials, walked the runway, and showcased their individual designs. TOC Artwork was excited to sponsor the Student Competition, and we were amazed with the students creativity.
Congratulations to all of the design firms involved that showcased their creative talents. Thank you to everyone that helped make this event come alive. It was a joy for TOC Artwork to be on the planning committee. It was inspiring to see our design community come together to put on this fabulous event. IIDA really did put on "The Greatest Shows on Earth".
